Night at the Indies - Terence Go1. Terence Go –

Terence Go is a first gen, Indonesian-Canadian spoken word artist who has featured at various venues in Toronto including the Artbar Poetry Reading Series and Rennaisance Café. His work has been published in Misunderstandings Magazine, and he has released two collections - UNgh (2007) and bEaTing OuT tHE kInX (2000). He has facilitated OUTwrites, a queer-positive writing group since 2003.

3. Short Series Produced for Xtra by Nancy Nicol - Pride and Resistance

Pride and Resistance, is a series of five three-minute videos on queer history created by Nancy Nicol. Pride and Resistance takes a whirlwind tour through forty years of local and national LGBTQ history celebrating the political history of Pride Day in Toronto. Pride and Resistance was commissioned by Xtra and Pride Toronto and premiered as large projections on Church St. for the Pride Day celebrations in Toronto, 2007.


4. Film: Social Conflict Management –

Night at the Indies - Jamieson Eakin5. Jamieson Eakin -

Jamieson hail’s from Alberta and works up a sweat at the Buddies In Bad Times Theatre. Most recently appeared in Happy (Sky Gilbert) as a big time trouble maker. Sings songs about stuff he likes and dislikes, gets cast in fringe show’s from time to time, Death to Dating (Factory main space 08’ ohh yah!). Just bought a bike! Zoom Zoom Zoom!


Night at the Indies - Zahra Dhanani6. DJ/Promoter/Artistic Director/Host: Zahra Dhanani

Zahra is a fierce, flamboyant, stylish, spiritual, sexy spin-sister on a mission to bring joy and justice to everything she does. She is a lawyer, a dj, a performer, a healer, a feminist, a glam queen, a lover of life. She has hosted radio shows, worked in tv, organized demonstrations, mediated debates, facilitated healing circles, dressed drag kings... She believes: its not what you do but how you do it! Her passions include everything from social justice to finding the right shade of red lipstick. She has been producing culturally, emotionally, spiritually and politically exciting events for over fifteen years!


7. Bollywood dancer – Puja Amin –

Performing tonight with DJ Zarah are all of you here today lead by the artistic Director of The Sanskriti Ensemble - Brace yourselves, fore those who have experienced what you are about to - say "these young girls possess the power to capture your hearts - they make you sing; they make you laugh; they make you dance right in your seat and some say they make you want to get up and join them!" Today they bring to you an exciting journey through Bollywood!

Night at the Indies - Sanskriti EnsembleThis high-powered ensemble gets its energy from young and starry-eyed talent. Having performed at various musicals, bollywood shows, product launches, fashion shows and large-scale events, they come prepared to take your breath away. Past performances include The Bollywood Awards in Atlantic City, The Hrithik & Shahrukh Show in Toronto, Sukhwinder Singh Live in Toronto 2005, Mayor's gala in Vaughan, The Trillium Diwali Gala 2006-2007 to name a few.

Leader and head-choreographer of the crew is Puja Amin; founder and entrepreneur of young inspiration. Her life long commitment to the art of dance has brought to the Sanskriti Arts Ensemble many awards, including a gold championship from the International Dance Challenge in Toronto, where she even received a special prize called 'Inside Out'. Puja has worked with Bollywood's premium personalities on film sets, directorial campaigns, dance tours and concerts around India, Canada and the world.

Much like a kaleidoscope, there is a lot to see here - the grace, the movements, the energy; the beauty and the charm.
